HOUSEPenny likes to think of our house as our "mother ship" - where we can pursue our lifelong learning activities and set out on learning expeditions in our escape pods - the boat and the trailer - or go on tours. A long, steep driveway connects our house to the road. Here it is during one of the few brief snowy spells we get in Nanaimo every winter.
We have done many renovations over the years. Our most recent renovation is the upstairs bathroom. Our place is truly a work in progress and a place to learn what makes houses work. We are interested in home exchanges. You can find us at Home Exchange at number 112764. |
VIEWWe look south over Departure Bay. Directly across from us, about four kilometres away, is the BC Ferry Terminal and beautiful Newcastle Island. We can also see some of the buildings in downtown Nanaimo and beyond them, Mount Maxwell on Saltspring Island.
To the east, is Gabriola Island - with the City of Vancouver and YVR, the Vancouver Airport, in the distance. At night we can the lights from the three chairlifts on the North Shore mountains - north of Vancouver. We can also see the lights of planes circling above YVR and landing and taking off. To the west is the City of Nanaimo and above it Mount Benson. Our view is one of the nicest things about our house. |
