TRAILERING

Over the years we have always enjoyed going on camping and RVing trips. In fact we have owned several tents, two Volkswagen Vans and two small travel trailers

Our first trailer was a 13 foot Boler which we owned for 25 years. Bolering was so much more comfortable (and dry) than camping in a tent! Favourite places we visited were Long Beach on Vancouver Island, Manning Park, the Okanagan, the Whistler area, and the Canadian Rockies. We also took the Boler to Disnyland in California and to Utah, Montana and Idaho. We loved our Boler and passed it on to our daughter and her family who are still enjoying it.

In 2007 we purchased our 17 foot Escape. The Escape is made in Chilliwack, British Columbia. It is well designed and sturdy. Although it is small by the standard of the huge motor coaches and fifth wheels we have travelled with, we think it is the perfect size. It is easy to tow behind a small truck and fits in almost any campsite.

Our Escape has a 4 person dinette that converts into a double bed at the "stern." On "port" side there is a sink with hot water and a 3 burner stove. Forward of that is an enclosed "head." On the "starboard" side there is a 3 way fridge, the door with a mosquito screen and a "hanging locker." At the front there is a 2 person dinette where we work on our computers. Mike has installed a powerful wifi antenna to pick up signals in RV parks and a bridge so we can both be online at the same time.

We sometimes take the Escape to Victoria or the mainland when visiting family. In 2009 we spent a whole month in North Vancouver helping with home renovations. Click on the year buttons to see some of the trailer trips we have made.
